Candlelight Yoga is a great way to release and relax and most gentle class. Restorative yoga is a practice that is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. During the long holds of this practice your muscles are allowed to relax deeply. All postures are done on the floor and are held for longer durations with an emphasis on support and comfort. Relaxing breath techniques and meditations can be used. The class uses bolsters, blankets, and blocks to prop students in the passive poses.
Chair Yoga students perform postures and breathing exercises with the aid of a chair. Poses include seated and standing poses and can be modified as needed. Experience the many benefits of yoga without having to get up or down from the floor. Benefits include increased balance, strength, flexibility, range of motion, and stress reduction.
Easy Does It Yoga
In this class yogis will review and reinforce basic yoga movements and shapes through 60mins of gentle yoga to help relax, stretch, and breathe. A typical class will include a review of the basic shapes for standing and seated poses, as well as a review of the movement for Sun Salutation A. This class will involve some up-and-down from sitting to standing but always at a gentle pace.
Gentle Yoga focuses on releasing tension, connecting with the breath and helping students gain strength and flexibility. We will incorporate simple flowing sequences to warm up the body, as well as slower paced movements using traditional postures with slight variations to accommodate all levels of yoga students. This class will have some poses on the floor and standing.
Yin Yang Yoga
Yin Yang Yoga is a gentle practice that combines strengthening and softening elements with the purpose of balancing the body. Students will experience a mild heat building flowing practice (yang) combined with longer held stretches (yin) to cultivate a balanced and relaxed body and a focused mind. Some breathing techniques and meditation may be included. Suitable for beginners and students with some yoga experience looking to balance themselves and their yoga practice. The practice includes poses on the floor and standing.
Mixed Levels Flow
Our Mixed Flow classes build on the basics, linking breath and movement together while still offering multiple options and variations so each person can create the level of challenge and ease that is right for them. The practice is based on sun salutations and leads students from standing to being on the floor in each class and thus is not recommended for those currently having mobility challenges. This class is perfect for physically active beginners and those with some yoga experience.
